Dr. Kapila Gupta arrived in Mexico City on December 4th and was received warmly at the International Airport by a welcoming committee made up of District Chairman 417 Marina Gutiérrez, Vice Chairman Ana Paola Guerra, Treasurer Valentina Serrano, National Representative Mayiya Rigail, Founding District Chairman Mercedes Velten, Secretary Andrea Gutiérrez, and some more members who were glad to participate in this important event.
Madame Kapila Gupta enjoyed an exquisite dinner at the Hacienda de los Morales, a place whose history goes back to the sixteenth century, witnessing great moments of the country's life and that over the years has become a magnificent restaurant.
December 5th, District 417 visited by International Inner Wheel President Dr. Kapila Gupta Totolapan, a town that was severely damaged during the past September 19 earthquake. Dr. Kapila Gupta had the opportunity to visit several of the emerging homes that the District donated in benefit of the victims. During these visits Dr. Gupta witnessed the warmth and hospitality of the beneficiary families, who were very excited and grateful receiving her with Mariachis and traditional Mexican food. In one of those homes, Dr. Kapila did the honor of planting the first oxygen provider tree within the reforestation program by District 417. Later, food was taken at the Ciruelos Restaurant located at the foot of the Tepozteco, from which there is a splendid view of this hill considered sacred by pre-Hispanic cultures.
Madame President, offering a breakfast attended as guests of honor by the Rotary Chairman Pío Arturo Barahona; accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Lilia Curiel, as well as the wife of the Ambassador of India, Rakhi Pardeshi and the District Chairman 418, Lucila Gordillo.
The District Chairman 417, Marina Gutiérrez gave into the hands of our International President, the trophy of friendship and, also, the candle ceremony took place.
4 new members were buttoned by Dr. Kapila Gupta, as well as Mrs. Lilia Curiel, wife of the Rotary Governor, was buttoned as an honorary member.
In addition to carrying out what dictated by the protocol, this breakfast was set by live music, the joy of the attendees and some samples of the Christmas traditions as it is the departure of piñata same in which Dr. Gupta participated enthusiastically.
During the night, Dr. Gupta witnessed the Folkloric Ballet of Mexico in the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts where the most recognized company of Mexico presented typical dances from all regions of this country, allowing attendees to perceive this vast territory through Dance.
Very good friends and members from D418 came to Mexico City to celebrate the Christmas breakfast with Dr. Kapila Gupta.
On December 7, Dr. Gupta along with members of District 417 visited Teotihuacan Piramids, which are a large archaeological complex and which at the time was a flourishing pre-Columbian city. During this visit members had the opportunity to meditate guided by Dr. Gupta.
