Schussental Hospice

Inner Wheel Club Ravensburg D86 Germany has a new project for 2018 – a small garden for the hospice „Schussental“

In hospice „Schussental“ of Ravensburg – founded in 2016 – live eight guests at a time, who are accompanied professionally in health and spiritual welfare in their last phase of their life. Lacking is a protected space outside to see and be in nature. The garden must be reached easily at ground level, paths in the garden must be solid enough to move around wheelchairs or beds. To guarantee privacy there should be no view from outside. Desirable are places, protected from wind and also some from sun, with seating accommodations.

Available is a space of 150 square meters surrounded by a hedge. IW Club of Ravensburg planed to create a „green oasis“ with bushes and flowers, that will bloom from spring to autumn. A flower or branch may be taken into the guest room as decoration.

They will not only finance the garden but the IW Club Ravensburg members will plant and care for the garden in a hands-on-project. And they will plant the yellow Inner-Wheel-Rose as a special greeting from the club.

In their Christmas café 2017, where they sold on three weekends coffee and home-baked cakes, they obtained a considerable amount to finance the garden. The Benefit-Shop Germany is supporting their project.  A wooden bench, manufactured by persons with disabilities, will show a plaque telling:
