IW Club of Dublin, District 16, GB&I, was delighted to welcome Manjari Battacharya who is a member of IW Club of Jamshedpur Sharkhan East, District 325, India. She also carried greetings from her Association President Prabha Raghunandan and District ISO Sheela Ranjan and Chairman Deepi Sahay. Manjari had come to Ireland to visit her daughter, Chandra, who had just had a son. Chandra is married to an Irish man. We plied her with questions about her club. Manjari is the Overseas Organiser, there are 32 members in her club which was formed in 2010. They do a lot of work for charity which includes visiting a village to support it with food, clothing and medicines. There are some lady doctors in her club. They also support a school for the deaf and dumb and have opened a school for adult education.
Manjari herself is a teacher – not quite retired, she does two days a week teaching social science to A Level students.
