IW Club of Izmir, D244, Turkey celebrates its anniversary by an art event every year. This year it was their 26th anniversary and they had an artistic film Show at the theatre salon of the Turkish American Assosiation in Izmir.
Since 25 November is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and 24 November is the foundation date of Izmir Inner Wheel Club, choosing a film about elimination of violence against women seemed a good way to arouse awareness on the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women.
So, the film "Dust Cloth" which has had three prizes in different film festivals in Europe, was chosen. It is about two women living in a poor district of a large city and working at houses of rich families. They don't have any social security, no sick leave, and no work guarantee. They work on day to day basis in different houses each day. On top of all this misery they are being abused at home, too.
Members of Rotaracts and of course Rotarians were also invited.
