A Fellowship Get-Together to Remember

A Fellowship Get-Together to Remember in Malaysia.

One of the main ideals of Inner Wheel is to promote true friendship. This is indeed a noble ideal as when a firm foundation of friendship is laid, everything else becomes easy to do.

Most Clubs have been meeting virtually over the last two years, due to the imposition of movement control orders and stringent standard operating procedures (SOPs) in efforts to contain COVID-19 and break the transmission chain.

In early April 2022, with positive cases showing a downward trend and social gatherings being allowed, the Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor (IWCSS) decided that this was an opportunity not to be missed and put plans in place to have a physical friendship meet over a luncheon.

President Indira and Member Jayanthi arranged a sumptuous and exotic lunch at the Frangipani Restaurant. As the name suggests, ‘Frangipani’ is a hardy plant and symbolises challenging times, whilst resembling grace and beauty. It was therefore certainly a befitting place for the lovely members of IWCSS to have good time together, a time to let everyone’s hair down, and be footloose and fancy free, after undertaking numerous projects which needed delicate manoeuvring and managing so as to ensure that the SOPs were not breached.

It was a delightful afternoon with most members attending, all attired in their Sunday best and looking so pretty. The ambience and superb food were certainly bonus points as the dining area was filled with so much chatter, laughter and joy – what initially looked like it would be a relatively quiet afternoon turned out to be one that will definitely be etched in the members’ memory for a long time to come.

Members felt invigorated and all geared up to have similar get togethers, to forge firmer friendships, to put plans in place to organise more personal service projects and end the 2021-2022 term with the conviction that the Club had done much to fulfil the triple objectives of Inner Wheel, the COVID-19 endemic, notwithstanding.

Yes, fellowships like this are so very needed because it is the camaraderie and sharing of ideas and commitment that make IWC SS a Club worthy to be a part of.
