Donation of Haemodialysis machine (District 323)

Inner Wheel Club of Madras

District Chairman: Kamala Selvam

President: Javanthi Singaram

Date: 24 March 2022

Donation of a haemodialysis machine to RYA Cosmo Foundation, Chennai. Dialysis is the process of removing excess water, solutes, and toxins from the blood in people whose kidneys can no longer perform these functions naturally. Dialysis is used as a temporary measure in either acute kidney injury or for those awaiting a kidney transplant and as a permanent measure in those for whom a transplant is not indicated or not possible. In haemodialysis, the patient's blood is pumped through the blood compartment of a dialyser, where it is cleansed. The cleansed blood is then returned via the circuit back to the body. RYA Cosmo, affiliated to the Rajasthan Youth Association, is one of the most respected social organisations in the city. With the theme of "Care the Uncared". They operate and manage a fully-fledged Medical Day Care Centre, Dialysis Centre, and a cost-to-cost Pharmacy and Dispensary that offer affordable medical assistance to the needy. Vice-President Renu Chandra and her husband Vikas Chandra (RCM Anna Nagar) donated the haemodialysis machine. Members attending the project donated towards 50 sessions of haemodialysis.

Three cheers to Inner Wheel Club of Siliguri Uttorayan, who under the unmatched leadership of President Sweta Agarwal, unstoppable efforts of Secretary Rita Majumdar and unswerving dedication of all the members, have achieved the biggest success so far. We aim to make a Female Ward in KMHSS, Kranti with none other than our very own 'Ambulance Dada'. He who won hundreds of awards including the Padmashree Award (prestigious award) for serving the underprivileged.

We laid the foundation for the female ward under the blessings of District Chairman Mrs Amita Mundra and benign presence of PDC Debjani Di. Another milestone achieved, another mission accomplished. We avow that we will not stop till we see the ward running smoothly. A well-known fact that nothing can be accomplished without the support of the giving hands. We will appreciate if any of you wish to be a part for this noble cause. Hoping and praying that we share the news of the inauguration of the Female ward soon.
