IWC Cotonou financially aids the destitute

IWC Cotonou gives financial aid to destitute hospital patients

On 16 November 2021, the Inner Wheel Club of Cotonou went to the aid of sixteen hospital patients who had been retained although medically recovered because of their inability to pay the hospital bill. They were in the National University Hospital Hubert Koutoukou MAGA, and the University Centre of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (CUGO), and the Paediatric and Neonatology departments.


The cost of this action amounts to one million and eighty-five thousand five hundred (1,085,500) francs CFA, distributed as follows:

(a) CUGO department: 4 patients for an amount of 157,500 francs CFA

(b) Neonatology Department: 5 patients for an amount of 288,000 francs CFA

(c) Paediatrics Department: 7 patients for an amount of 640,000 francs CFA


The ceremony presenting the Certificate of Discharge, took place in the presence of Lala TIJANI ADEDIRAN, District Chairman of District 909 as part of her official visit to clubs in Benin. Also present were hospital officials. It was an atmosphere of relief and joy in the hearts of these patients who will finally be home to be with their families.
