The Inner Wheel Club of Sierra Norte enjoys close ties with Rotary Club Of Karia

The members of Rotary International and International Inner Wheel have had a long history of friendship and service highlighting the place of women who represent and give voice to service clubs around the world.

On 24 October 2021, Valeria García Márquez, President of the Inner Wheel Club of Xicotepec Sierra Norte, received an invitation from Saide KURT, Rotary President 2021-2022 of Karia Club in Bodrum, Turkey, District 2440, to commemorate World Polio Day. The event was held via Zoom and includes a discussion of the work Rotarians do to eradicate polio around the world.

One of RC Karia is in their work with Ege Orman Vakfi, a foundation which strives to ensure the sustainability of Turkey’s forests for present and future generations. When a donation is made, the donor is granted a tree with a certificate. In this case, Valeria received a tree in gratitude for her involvement with Rotary Turkey.

President Valeria represented Mexico as Ambassador of Peace and Goodwill in the Rotary Exchange Program (RYEP), Rotary year 2017-2018 as a former member of the Interact Club in Xicotepec. As the founding member and current President of the Inner Wheel Club of Xicotepec Sierra Norte, she is aware of the impact that the union of Clubs has throughout the world, especially if they are led by women who motivate other women.
