Donation To the SPER Centre, Dakar Senegal

Posted by | Nov 07, 2021 |

Tuesday, October 19, 2021, members of the Inner Wheel Dakar Teranga club visited the SPER Center (Solidarity for Street Children) and donated to this center created in 1994 by young leaders of youth movements to face the number growing number of children living in the streets and provide a social and educational response to their suffering.

The Centre accommodates 25 drop-out children in temporary accommodation found during street patrols. The children find people in this center who listen to them, understand them and support them in resuming their studies until they return to their families.

The Director of SPER, his colleagues and the children received the donation worth 250,000 CFA Francs, composed of:

- school supplies (notebooks, slates, pens, chalk sticks, sponges, colored pencils, black pencils, erasers, etc.).

- foodstuffs (rice, oil, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, cookies, etc.)

- and soap.

We are in total agreement with the philosophy of the SPER Center

"THE CHILD'S PLACE IS AT SCHOOL OR AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREET".
