Posted by International Inner Wheel | Nov 04, 2021 |

On the 27th October 2021one of our members, Beryl Pryde, of Workington Derwent Inner Wheel was presented with the Margarette Golding Award. Only just over 380 worldwide have been given since 2000 so we are extremely proud of Beryl`s achievements and this well-deserved recognition.

The award was given `for her services to the community and her contribution to the success of Parkinsons West Cumbria`.

Apart from being Chairman of Cockermouth Scout Group for many years she regularly holds coffee mornings to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance, Inner Wheel charities and the organisation most dear to her heart, Parkinsons West Cumbria.

She was one of the founder members of the West Cumbria branch of Parkinsons UK. The group has grown into one of the largest branches in the country, covering both Allerdale and Copeland. Throughout this time Beryl has been a key driver. Not only helping those with the condition but also providing valued help and support for their carers at what can be an isolating and difficult time.

She has developed art classes, singing and dancing groups as well as many social activities. She keeps members informed with a monthly newsletter and has been a vital link for many families during Lockdown.

The group Chairman said of her,` without Beryl and her commitment we wouldn`t have the most successful branch in the UK`.

Many Congratulations Beryl on your wonderful achievements.
