On 21st November 2020, IWC Butterworth shelved its plans for a Club Diwali gathering at President Daisy’s home due to the CMCO enforced by the Malaysian Government in lieu of the Covid Pandemic.

President Daisy proposed a video compilation by members to observe the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25th November. Members started sending in video clips and some even took videos of themselves giving their veiws. Member Thilagavathy Subramaniam enthusiastically took the lead for the production of the video compilation.

As proposed, the video was completed on 25th November and aired first to members before it was released to the social media. It was well received by supporters and friends.

It was then decided to hold a virtual Club Meeting with Fellowship on 28th November and have as guest speaker Datuk Dr Florance, founder and President of SNEHAM, an NGO which aids distressed inviduals and suicidal cases. Datuk Dr Florance agreed to speak on the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The decision was taken that fellowship would also include meals to be delivered to members’ homes so everyone could have a virtual party and eat together with their preferred option of Non Vegetarian or Vegetarian Biriyani.

Members were also urged to dress in orange attire to show support for the Orange Month which highlights violence against women.

IWCBW members participated enthusiastically during the virtual meeting and stayed on afterwards for the virtual Dinner Party.
