IWC Butterworth aids Seniors’ Home

IWC Butterworth’s members have been supporting a Seniors’ Home, Persatuan Kebajikan Jayam Sri Laxmi with monetary and other contributions for a while. This Club project has been ably coordinated by President Daisy, Vice President Jagadheeswary, ISO Dr Sujatha and Past ISO Letchumi Narainan. The Club’s purpose in helping the Home is as follows:

  1. The primary objective is to support the well-being of the seniors via members Dr Sujatha’s and Dr Kanya’s medical expertise.
  2. Club members have committed to spending 10 hrs of quality time a month to enhance the mental well-being of the seniors so they feel loved and appreciated.
  3. President Daisy and Past ISO Letchumi are committed to support the maintenance and proper governance of the Home in its financing and accounting aspects.

President Daisy who is in senior management at Micron Technology helped coordinate much needed monetary aid to the Home via Micron Foundation’s Covid 19 Relief Fund. A cheque for RM40,000 was handed over to Project Coordinator Dr Sujatha by the Right Honourable Chief Minister of Penang Mr Chow Kon Yeow on 25th October 2020. The cheque was duly passed on to the operator of the Home by President Daisy, ISO Dr Sujatha and Club Correspondent Dr Kanyakumari Balakrishnan.

As a new club formed in February 2019, IWC Butterworth is proud of its achievements, yet grateful for the well wishes and support of the District Committee and all sister clubs in attaining its goals.
