Many Homes are caught in a financially strained situation following the Covid-19 pandemic. Sponsors are not continuing their support as they are also affected by the economic downturn.
One such Home was the PJ Caring Home, which was struggling to meet their grocery needs. Set up in 2002 for the mentally ill who are homeless or from poor income group, there are 88 residents at the Home.
An urgent call was made by the Home to a member of the IWC of KL North. President Thana and her members quickly pulled together their resources and was able to deliver several cartons of grocery items. For the time being the residents of the PJ Caring Home were able to have their needs fulfilled.
Due to the Security Council directive that only one person is allowed to go out and buy food supplies throughout the movement control order (MCO), PP Diana worked alone to deliver the groceries bought by members.
The management of the PJ Caring Home highly praised the IWC KL North for their generosity and kindness.
