Project Face Shield in the Philippines

Posted by | Apr 20, 2020 |

IWC Chinatown donated 4 rolls (50kg/each) of acetate to Red Cross (through National Vice President Sofie Lee) and distributed face masks to front-liners of UERM Hospital (through Dra. Anna Teresa Chua), Malvar Hospital, another hospital in Bulacan, Fairview General Hospital, Sampaloc Fire Station and bikers of different delivery services.

The club through the initiative of Past National President Cecille Ferrer and daughter IWC Chinatown Club President Joyce Ferrer Araullo made the face shields from scratch. Materials were donated by Past President Emily Young (acetate), National Vice President Sofie Lee (foams) and Past President Elena Ngo (other supplies). 1 roll/50 kg of acetate can produce 1,200 face shields.

The team targets to make 2,000 face shields to be donated to more hospitals.
