On December the 4th, 2019, the inauguration ceremony of the maternity ward of Gadomè, in the Republic of Benin took place. A project that saw its dawn at the headquarters of the Consulate of Benin in Naples, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding of "International Co-operation" between Consul Dr. Giuseppe Gambardella and I.W. Club of Battipaglia President Letizia Abenante Robello - District 210 Italy, for the development of an intervention plan aimed at improving the living conditions of women of this small African state, in tune with the International Service "Caring Women and Girls".
The project, through the solidarity dinner of January the 25th, 2019 in the frame of the Hotel Congressi San Luca di Battipaglia, which saw the participation of more than two hundred guests and several sponsors, allowed the realisation of the work. On the 28th of March 2019, at the consular headquarters of Benin in Naples, the official delivery of the copious donation took place as a result of the initiative, which was born precisely in the sign of love, hope for the many women, and the many children who sadly, are still seeking equal dignity to the rest of the world.
In a very short time, the "Maternity Department" was realised, which has been equipped with all the sanitary material, incubators and furnishings that will give support and care to young mothers and their children. In memory and thanks of our support for the women of Benin, a plaque with dedication and special mention was posted on the entrance wall.
