‘Walk For Life’ Walkathon
When IWC Alor Setar heard that the Transplant and Organ Procurement Unit of Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Kedah Malaysia would be organising a walkathon to raise funds for the Unit, club members and family were quick to respond and register. Aptly named the Walk for Life Walkathon, members and family assembled at the lobby of the hospital early on 1 February 2020, and warmed up with Zumba before being flagged-off for the five-kilometre walk.
The route took us along a scenic paddy field trail and the cool morning fresh air added to the enjoyment of the walkathon. All of us managed to be in the top 200 to finish and were rewarded with a medal. This is the second of IWC Alor Setar’s walkaton participation and we look forward to taking part in more, both to contribute to a worthy cause whilst keeping fit the Inner Wheel Way!
