The Chin Community in Malaysia are refugees from Myanmar living in Malaysia. The children of this community are not able to attend local Government schools. Hence, a centre was set up to teach the children of various ages on The Chin and Myanmar language, English, Maths and Science.

This centre is called Chin Community Education Centre. This centre is being funded by well wishers and donors and needed financial help desperately.

Hence, The Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur came forward with donations received to help the centre, children, teachers and parents.

Our Honorary Member, Toh Puan Aishah Ong and many members attended the project on 6th November with our National Representative Mrs Juanita Lee.

For the centre – we donated vinyl / linoleum flooring, 7 ceiling fans.  Paid 5 months rental of the centre @ RM500 per month. We also donated 50 chairs.

For the children – we gave 36 students angpows of RM20 each. Bought stationaries and books for the children. The children performed various traditional songs and dances for their visitors from Inner Wheel Kuala Lumpur.

For the teachers – we gave 4 volunteers teachers RM100 each.

For the Parents – we donated to each family, a bag of 10kg rice, flour and anchovies – a much needed stable diet for the families.

Our Honorary Member, Toh Puan Aishah Ong generously donated towards their year end Christmas party as well.

Wishing the Children and the Centre all the success and may the supports to them continues as long as they are needed.
