Many of the ladies in IW District A61, Bundoora Australia, knit or crochet rugs and they responded to a recent appeal by the Olivia Newton-John Cancer, Wellness and Research Centre for rugs to give to their palliative-care patients.
They are a relatively small but very active club of only 14 ladies in District A61 and they were thrilled that their gifts were so gratefully accepted by members of the ONJ team.
Over the years these ladies have knitted and donated over 5,000 rugs to care homes: The Austin Repat hospital, Big Group Hug (a local charity helping needy families), The Northern Hospital and other community organisations.
