Charity concert “I Can do All” in Split

Posted by | May 14, 2019 |

On March 31st in Split National theatre a charity concert was held for children with autistic spectrum disorders. It was organized by the Inner Wheel Club Split Palmina and the 'Drop for the Waterfall' Foundation under the patronage of the City of Split and with presence of District Chairman Nataša Karin and National Representative Meri Šuman-Tolić.

The singers at the concert were first welcomed by Director of the Center for Autism Anja Ozretić Jelaska followed by the President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović envoy, Mayor of Split Andro Krstulovic-Opara and Blaženko Boban, County Prefect of Split-Dalmatia.

The honor of opening the music part of the program was then given to the members of the Centre who, with the loud applause of the audience, sang their 'anthem' to the lyrics of Aleksandra Kardum 'I Can Do All'.

Followed the performance full of positive energy and love sympathy by Tedi Spalato, the mezzosopranist of the Croatian National Theater Split Terezija Kusanović (IWC SPLIT PALMINA member), Dalmatino group , Neno Belan and Dictators, and finally Giuliano and Marko Škugor .

It should be noted that our guests were children of Maestral House (Home for children with no parents) accompanied by their tutors. On behalf of the co-organizer, Inner Wheel Club Split Palmina, we thank all those who, through the purchase of tickets, donations and logistical support, participated in the action and thus contributed to the spread of awareness of autism. It is a complex disorder that is not sufficiently recognized and there is no early intervention strategy. All the income from the concert shall be used for the renovation of the Autism Center in Split.

We would like to thank also to our dear members of the IW families who were with us in the audience especially our sponsoring club IW Club Split.

Maja Medić  President of IWC Split Palmina.
