On November 8th 2018, in the auditorium of “Giovanni Paolo II Foundation” in Bari, an Interclub meeting took place between three IW Clubs of District 210, Italy:  Bari Alto Terra dei Peuceti, Cerignola and San Severo.

A large audience attended the inspiring conference by Professor Antonio La Scala, President of “Penelope" Association, who focused on the relevance of the theme "Violence against women and children" in the new Italian law issued last January. Professor La Scala immediately emphasized that it is almost a war: murders, missing people, violence against women and minors, wide use of the pill of rape, which puts the victims to sleep for at least 8 hours to make them available to the perpetrators rapists.

He also illustrated with clarity and admirable synthesis the innovations and the manifold opportunities of the new law, aimed at fighting violence against women.
In conclusion the speaker  highlighted that  the severe problem can be faced and fought first of all with a diffusion of thought that has to start from the nursery school and then up to the primary and secondary school, establishing throughout this pathway the constant figure of specialists and sensitized and qualified teachers as true "Watches against violence".

On this subject Roberta De Pascalis, President of IW Club Bari Alto Terra dei Peuceti, and Secretary Titti Pignatelli stressed the importance of District 210 Service "Educating to respect", set up by District Chairman Matilde Gasparri Zezza, with the aim of deepening, in primary and secondary schools, this important theme and challenge violence, bullying and cyberbullying.

The conference was also attended by Rosa Catello, President of the Artistic Association "The workshop", who illustrated the "Women’s scream" in an emblematic pictorial composition.
