Swarnanjali, the golden jubilee celebrations of Inner Wheel Club of Bangalore South held on Saturday, 28th October 2017 will be etched in members memories for years to come. President Veena Kiran Shankar and convenor Jayanthi Radhakrishnan ensured that every small detail was taken care of.
PP Gayathri Gupta added a classy touch to the venue through her decorating skills. Members dressed in vibrant orange sarees, jasmine flowers, and stunning jewelry gave a feel of a fragrant floating sunset as they laughed, cheered and welcomed the guests.
The presence of charming International Inner Wheel President Dr. Kapila Gupta, vivacious Association President Patricia Hilton, and gracious District Chairman Padmini Nagachandra along with a host of past district chairmen of District 319, district executive members, and Rotarians added to the much-needed pizzaz to the program.
The program began with a melodious invocation by PP Gayathri Gupta. President Veena welcomed and addressed the gathering and invited IIW President, Association President and District Chairman to execute three projects - Rupees one lakh to Akshaya Trust of Dayashankar Foundation, felicitation of an engineering gold medalist - a beneficiary of club's Vidyanidhi Book Bank project and benches to Government to school in Kathriguppe to mark the club's golden jubilee celebrations. Earlier in the morning, the signature project - donation of dialysis machine at Sevakshetra hospital was executed by the dignitaries.
The program was followed by a video presentation - 'The Golden Chronicle' depicting the saga of the fifty presidents who served the club. A cake was cut to mark the celebrations. The Golden Odyssey - a souvenir that reminisces the club's journey of friendship and service was inaugurated by the International Inner Wheel President. Association President Patricia Hilton released the club bulletin Sangama.
IIW President Dr. Kapila Gupta addressed the audience and appreciated the efforts put in by the club to execute projects that 'leave a lasting legacy.' Association President Patricia Hilton acknowledged the club activities and kept the audience engaged through her wit and humor. District Chairman Padmini Nagachandra compared the club to wine that gets enriched with time and congratulated the president and convenor for the excellent arrangements.
The day ended with the Past Presidents walking the ramp with their year’s theme placard in their hands and a lip-smacking dinner.
