Read MoreOn a sunny and warm September Saturday morning, a large number of members representing all the 37 Inner Wheel Clubs of District 206, Italy, joined Centro Pastorale Paolo VI, in Brescia for the first District Assembly.
The event, organized by Brescia Sud Club, was held by District 206 Chairman Daniela Sighel Ioriatti, who welcomed all the Clubs attending the meeting. Among the many guests: the President, the Treasurer and two past Presidents of the Italian National Council, the IIW National Representative, some Past Board Directors and District Chairmen, as well as Rotary District 2050 Governor Lorenza Dordoni, PDG District 2050 Angelo Pari, many Rotarian and civil Authorities.
The Italian National Council President Mrs. Isabella Rizza gave a presentation with a resume of the various activities of the Council, encouraging members to promote IW. She also presented the chosen charity for 2017/18, giving support to FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) in restoring a small church destroyed by 2016 Marche region earthquake.
Then, Italian National Representative, Mrs. Gemma Pirondini informed about the International Inner Wheel last news, producing a lively and interesting discussion, also in respect of Melbourne Convention, 11-14 April 2018.
In her short and very impressive talk, Chairman Daniela Sighel asked members to work hard to promote IIW theme ‘Leave a Lasting Legacy’ trusting the great strength of boosting, serving and acting Inner Wheel, proud to announce and welcome a newborn Club in the District, Gorizia Europea, thanks to the great job of Donatella Nicolich, past District Chairman and Anna Cotta Extension Chairman.
After complying with the various obligations of ratifying the nominations for the National Councils and proposals to amend the rules for our Clubs, District and National Council, in view of the next National Conference, and after various programming reports of the District officers and Club Voting Delegates comments, Daniela Sighel declared the assembly closed wishing to carry on our work in the best way, in building more and more happier futures and better lives, following President Kapila Gupta motto: ‘Leave a Lasting Legacy’.
Later on, members enjoyed a lovely lunch in the large and welcoming dining room where greetings were brought to District Chairman Daniela Sighel by Past District Governor 2040, Rotarian Angelo Pari, confirming the unity of purpose and commitment with Rotary on our ideas of friendship and service.
