D211 Italy, Visit Malta

From April 21st to April 24th 2017 a meeting was held in the beautiful island of Malta between a group of members from District 211 Sicily and Calabria and the members of

IW Club of Malta.

The friendliness of the Maltese friends and the stunning location of the meeting were the key to the success of the manifestation. One of the features of Inner Wheel is the opportunity given to members throughout the word to get to know one another, promoting true friendship and contributing to international understanding.

Also Italian and Maltese Rotarians, among whom Past Governor Alfred Mangione, attended the meeting. The President of the IW Club of Malta, Dolores Von Moll, greatly appreciated the visit and promised to return it in the future. She complimented the District Chairman for the perfect organization of the trip and for the friendly relationship established with her.

The meeting was one of the most meaningful events of the Inner Wheel year, thanks to the participation of District Chairman Nadia Arena Micalizio and of many Presidents and members representing the following eight IW Clubs: Augusta, Caltanissetta, Messina, Niscemi, Noto, Palermo, Ragusa Centro and Tropea.

On the terrace of the Cavalieri Hotel overlooking the sea and the enchanting bay of St. Julian in the background, the President of IW Club of Malta, the District 211 Chairman and the Clubs members proceeded to sign the contact parchments written both in English and in Italian, one copy for each Club attending. The ceremony concluded with banner and gift exchange, followed by an elegant dinner and the promise to meet soon in Italy.
