Australia District A61

A productive convention planning meeting was held on Thursday 3rd August 2017 at Southbank, Melbourne.

IIW President Dr. Kapila Gupta had a flying visit to Melbourne recently  2-4 August 2017. Convention Coordinator 2018 Val Corva met IIW President Dr. Kapila Gupta at the Melbourne airport on Wednesday evening and drove her to her accommodation in Williamstown. The next day was a hectic one.  A productive 6-hour convention planning meeting was held on Thursday 3rd August 2017 in the ICMS board room at Southbank, Melbourne. They even worked through lunch.  After a short time to refresh back in her accommodation, IIW President Dr. Kapila, National Representative Marilyn Armstrong and two members from IW Club Pt Cook, enjoyed dinner with the members of my IW Club WilliamstownDistrict A61.

The meeting venue was at the Royal Motor Yacht Club of Victoria, overlooking Port Phillip Bay with a beautiful view of the Melbourne skyline across the bay. IIW President Dr. Kapila was quite taken with this beautiful and historical seaside village close to Melbourne.

The following day IIW President Dr. Kapila and Convention Coordinator Val Corva met for many hours to continue discussing convention arrangements. They shared a delicious Indian meal before Val drove President Kapila back to the airport for her return flight home. It was a productive visit with many ideas discussed. IIW President Dr. Kapila motivated members to register in large number for IIW convention being held in their city, country, and rest of the IW world be traveling thousands of miles to be part of this unique IIW Convention.

Members of Inner Wheel Australia look forward to welcoming IIW President Kapila back to Australia for our IWA Conference to be held in Lismore in October.
