NO MORE ALONE

An important conference to celebrate the International Day for the elimination of violence against women held on 18^th November

On 18th November 2017, IW Club of Tricase- Santa Maria di Leuca, Italy celebrated the International Day to End Violence against Women with an important conference  entitled  ”NO MORE ALONE!”
The conference was under the sponsorship of the Italian Chamber of Deputy President, the Apulia Region, and the Municipal Authorities.

Inner Wheel and some of the most important Italian institutions for gender equality were together to send to as many women and men as possible  an important message on the significance of “violence against women”, and also  to  give moral and juridical supports  to all victims of violence and  to say that a different way of life  was luckily possible: they were  not alone!

Dr. Serenella Molendini, National Counsellor for Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities, illustrated the alarming data about violence against women in the workplace, and how a woman can protect herself.
Dr. Giulia Sannolla, Regional Referent for Welfare spoke about many kinds of domestic violence and where and how a woman can find help.
Our commitment, as women and Inner Wheel members, is to be present and close to all women who are victims of violence and to make all the efforts to build a new society based on respect for all of the women.
