As we all know, the lack of toilets and sanitary napkins have led to a compromise on women’s health for decades. Today on 23rd April, the Inner Wheel Club of Moradabad Central initiated a mega project. It is about the construction of four “pink toilet blocks “at Shishu Vatika Inter College for School Girls.
This project was inaugurated by our Honorary District Chairman Mrs Sonal Bhatia. Currently, pink doors are still under construction and soon, all will be complete. In order to have regular maintenance, the club has formed a sanitation committee to regularly monitor the cleanliness in the schools. In addition, the club has also distributed sanitary napkins among schoolgirls and had a discussion with them on the importance of menstrual hygiene.

Three big walls were painted with the message of Stree Shakti Environment and how to be safe on road. The painting was on the wall of Bus Stand Gandhi Maidan so that people may follow these messages. The inauguration of the wall painting was by PDC Shweta Sinha. PDC Sarita Prasad was also present at the time of inauguration.

The Inner Wheel Club of Madras Central constructed a shelter for people taking the COVID-19 vaccination at Nandhivaram Government Hospital, Guduvanchery. This project used the CSR funds from Amphenol Omni Connect Private Ltd.

The Inner Wheel Club of Gangtok organised “Ignite — Light the Fire Within”, Sikkim's only inter college competition on 24 April 2022. This is an annual event of the club which started in 2016 with an aim to provide a platform for the college students to showcase their talents. All the government and private colleges from the whole of Sikkim were invited to the event.
This year, around 22 colleges and 350 students participated in 12 categories. The various events were —declamation, poetry recitation in English, Hindi and Nepali, photographic treasure hunt, story writing, video campaign, quiz, wealth from waste, talent show of dancing, singing and arts. The valedictory ceremony was graced by the Honourable Member of Parliament Shri Indra Hang Subba.
Also present were special guests Shri Akshay Sachdeva SDPG, Sikkim Police and Mrs Bhimkumari Sharma, cultural adviser to HCM. The winners showcased their talents and also received medals and certificates for their efforts. The judges of the various events too were felicitated on the day. The trophies for the best performing college went to Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing while Sikkim government college Namchi bagged the first runner up trophy and Sikkim government college Burtuk received the second runner up trophy. The event was well attended by the media fraternity. It was a total success which gave us encouragement to continue with our efforts to provide such platforms in future.

Baba Farid University Inauguration
In celebration of Women’s Week on Women’s Day, chief guest District Chairman Nita Puri inaugurated this mega event — Cancer Detection Camp on 3 March 2022, organised by the Inner Wheel Club Sirsa Midtown. It was a joint project with Inner Wheel Club of Sirsa Shine and Inner Wheel Club of Faridkot. A cancer detection van this camp was for the early detection of breast and cervical cancer
Mata Gunwati Bansal Memorial Rotary Cancer Detection Van was used at the Baba Farid University, Faridkot. Involved were a team of 20 doctors from Faridkot Medical College along with the members of the Inner Wheel Club Faridkot.

Dedicated to Mother Earth on Earth Day with an aim to Reduce Reuse Recycle. A very informative and interesting Nukkad play(street play) was performed to spread awareness about segregation of household waste into blue and green dustbins. In the presence of District Chairman Mrs Nita Puri, Club President Rimpy Bansal educated people about the urgency and need of the hour with facts and figures. Other members were holding informative banners on awareness. A hands-on workshop was held by members on waste composting at home.
The Swatch Bharat team (Clean India Mission Team) from Government also gave valuable suggestions and appreciated this noble cause. Blue and green dustbins with stand were also donated to the park with Inner Wheel logo. Packets of homemade manure and enzyme were also donated to the public. Media coverage helped spread the message to the masses.
