Since its formation, the Inner Wheel Club of Padova Specola 4.0 has been pursuing an “international attitude”. Therefore, members started to look for new contacts with other Inner Wheel Clubs outside of Italy.
On the occasion of Inner Wheel Day celebrated every year on 10 January, the Club International Service Organiser Monica Bezzegato had the first virtual flag exchange (or “e-flag”) with a Club from India, the Inner Wheel Club of Indore Uptown (District 304). From that moment on, many other Clubs from different countries asked for an e-flag exchange.
To date, e-flags have been exchanged with 16 Clubs. They are the Inner Wheel Clubs of: Indore Uptown (D304, India), Koppal Karnataka State (D316, India), Balaju (D350, Nepal), Delhi Umang (D301, India), Alexandria East (D95, Egypt and Jordan), Colombo (D322, Sri Lanka), Rajshahi (D328, Bangladesh), Butwal (D350, Nepal), Ambarnath (D314, India), Delhi Sainik Farms (D301, India), Ipoh East (D330, Malaysia & Singapore), Jamshepdur (D325, India), Gurgaon Sushant Vatika (D301, India), Bombay Kandivli (D314, India), Duliajan (D324, India) and Matale (D322, Sri Lanka).
With the e-flag exchanges, members of the Club are happy to put in practice two fundamental ideals of International Inner Wheel, that is, to promote true friendship and to foster international understanding. We hope to strengthen these relationships and develop some projects together with Inner Wheel members from foreign countries.
In the last two years, sadly marked by COVID-19 and travel limitations, these online exchanges are encouraging and give a hope to go back to “normal life” as soon as possible.
