IWC Islamabad helping the poor and destitute women in a shelter home.

5 Aug 2021.

On 5th Aug, 2021, the Inner Wheel Club of Islamabad distributed food to the poor and destitute women living in Nijat Trust (a shelter home). Members also spent time with them. The women of the Home shared heartbreaking stories and hardships faced by them. They needed to be heard and to be well cared well for by society. The COVID-19 situation has limited the participation of the Club members. Secretary Shafiqua Jawaid and Nadia Fayyaz represented the Club to distribute.

Greening Our Earth: a tree planting drive by IWC Islamabad Cosmopolitan.

1-5 Aug 2021.

In the first week of August, President IWCIC Faarrah Farrukh has initiated the tree planting activity. In the first phase, all members of the executive team of IWC Islamabad Cosmopolitan planted trees in their nearest sites. IWCIC is looking for a bigger tree planting drive day to make more green spaces. This activity was part of the tree planting drive by district 342. Rapidly changing climate has become one of the biggest challenges in the world. District 342 (Pakistan) is determined to make a difference by planting more and more trees in the coming months in collaboration with other districts all over the world.

Prisoners: a forgotten section of society

IWC Rawalpindi in collaboration with Dhartee Rung Trust collected funds to buy water coolers for the inmates of Jehlum Prison. Prisoners are the most forgotten section of society and most of the time their basic needs are not even met. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only Club President Naila Shafqat , Secretary Mishal Masood and Treasurer Roohi Masood took part in the presentation.
