Inner Wheel Club of Dilkusha, D345 Bangladesh celebrated 'World Hand Wash Day' every year since 2009 with a hands-on project which will have a definite impact on an entire community.

Seventeen months into the pandemic, hand washing with soap remains one of our best defenses against the virus, along with other public health measures. Global hand washing Day observed by clubs on 15th October to raise awareness. But promoting hand wash has been taken as “CAMPAIGN” throughout the year by the Club. To create awareness IWC Dilkusha share leaflets on “how to wash hands” through email. Club distributed free soaps to different places. IWC Dilkusha send free soaps to different Clubs of the district also for distribution. Promoted on a wide enough scale, hand washing with soap can be thought of as a "do-it-yourself" vaccine.

Hand washing has always been one of the most effective ways of keeping diseases at bay. Hand wash is also one of the key cornerstones of Covid 19 prevention. Now more than ever as we embrace the new normal and live with Covid 19, hand hygiene needs to become an integral part of our daily routine and our lives, as we live through this pandemic, and beyond, to protect us from diseases.

To beat the virus today and ensure better health outcomes beyond the pandemic, hand washing with soap must be a priority now and in the future.
