Documentary against violence from Croatia

In September, we continued with our work tasks in IWC Pula - Croatia -District 191.

One of the things we did is that we decided to have our meeting outdoors surrounded by the lovely countryside. We all agreed it was a wonderful experience.

We were engaged a lot in executing two donations:

The first donation was made to the Music School IM Ronjgova Pula in the amount of HRK 4,000 for the purpose of tuition for Leonard Rojnić, a very talented and gifted student of the school.

The second donation was made to Danilo Ilić Lola in the amount of HRK 1,000 for making a documentary called “If he beats you, it means he loves you.” The film focuses on violence against women, domestic violence and juvenile violence, which is considered as "normal" and explores the root cause of the problem and trying to find solutions of stopping this kind of violence. The shooting of the film is also supported by the Safe House Istria, which has been actively dealing with this issue for fifteen years, providing women who are victims of domestic violence and their children with accommodation and various types of support. The letter of support states: "We are pleased with the project that will point out the problem of violence against women and perhaps an even greater problem of the inertia of the system that should offer protection and stop this behaviour which is more or less accepted as normal behaviour."
