Literacy Projects in India

8Th September - International Literacy Day is celebrated to remind the community importance of having literate societies.

In these days of the Pandemic when everything is virtual & with no physical classes it has become increasingly difficult for the marginalised children to cope with their studies. They have to depend on their parents’ smartphones. But what about the less fortunate students who don’t own a smart phone-Should Education stop? Should they lose the academic year?

Taking this thought in mind few a few districts have done the following projects:

Inner Wheel Club Of Bhubaneshwar Metro - District 326

President Sukeerti & members undertook a joint venture with Rotary Club Of Bhubaneswar Metro, wherein 40 I-Pads were given to the students in interior Rayagada District of Odisha . This has helped the deserving students to participate in their on-line classes which was not possible till now.

Inner Wheel Club Of Dombivili - District 314

The Club President Vrushali & members donated about 16 smart phones to the orphans & Underprivileged children. They were more than happy to own it & continue their studies.

Inner Wheel Club Of Delhi Northwest - District 301

The club President Dimpy Kapoor undertook the far reaching project for the children of Village Jharsa in Gurugram along with a philanthropist .They donated 84 E- tablets to these underprivileged children to help E-Learning.

Inner Wheel Club Of Goniana Midtown - District 309

The Club President Pooja & clubs donated smart phones to the children. This was donated by District Chairman Sushma Grover on occasion of her father in laws 90th birthday.
