Help for Families Across our Border

The Inner Wheel Club of Citrus Heights has collected items to donate to the Flying Samaritans, Inc. when they are able to fly due to COVID. The Flying Samaritans is a group of professionals who help provide healthcare services at no charge to the people in Baja California, Mexico who otherwise have no access to medical care.

They are physicians, nurses, dentists, pilots, translators, and many other people. The chapter we donate to flies to San Quintin, Mexico once a month and provides medical, dental, orthopaedic, vision, and well-child care to the village, sometimes to as many as 200 children. Our Club members have been collecting toiletries, school supplies, small toys, books, games, stuffed animals, dolls, and balls.

We also have been sewing "back sacks" to give to the children to hold their treasures and to the mothers to hold medicine and supplies from the clinic. Our members have been making fleece blankets for all babies to teens who attend the clinic.
