Report of activities of IWC Trivandrum

As a Mission Mamta project, a girl child needing support was identified who had lost her father to cancer and mother invalid with arthritis.  Financial aid of Rs.6000/- was donated on July 15 through Asraya, a voluntary organization of women helping cancer patients and their families.

 

Free medical camp on August 23 with Rotary Club Trivandrum who have adopted Adimalathura in Trivandrum Dist. This is a seaside village of mainly fisherfolk with minimal local medical facilities.  Doctors and medical staff specializing General Medicine, ENT, Audiology, Paediatrics, Gynaecology participated. This was conducted at a local school.  About 150 families benefitted. 

Distributed library books on September 2 to Lower Primary School at Pettah Trivandrum to encourage children below the age of 10 learning to read (see above). Gifted a printer to the school on October 15 for their day-to-day requirement during District Chairman visit.

Rotary Institute is a school run for children in need of special care. We participate in their celebrations of events and festivals and encourage the children and staff. We also provide need-based support for their requirements. On October 15, along with the District Chairman, we donated 15 bedsheets for the children who stay in the hostel there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For Children's Day on November 14, dinner was provided at Panchavadi, an orphanage for girls in Trivandrum. 25 girls and their caretakers enjoyed the food including ice cream.
