The Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar had an eventful four days from 1 to 4 August 2019, when the Club participated in a charity carnival organised by the Sultanah Bahiyah Foundation.
The objective of this carnival, which is held on an annual basis, is to raise funds for charity, and for 2019, the main aims were to help contribute to the cost of health projects, namely the running of two haemodialysis centres, a mobile bus health screening and blood donation unit and a cataract clinic.
The Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar took up a stall at the carnival and over the four days, members clad in pretty pink caps and aprons, proudly bearing the Inner Wheel logo, became businesswomen cum food stall operators, serving a variety of mouth-watering dishes.
The icing on the cake was when the stall was visited by the Kedah Princess, HRH Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz (see below), who is also the Chairperson of the Foundation. The Princess showed keen interest as members explained the objectives of Inner Wheel to her. Another dignitary who stopped by was the Chief Minister of Kedah, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
At the end of the four days, the Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar helped the foundation achieve its aims and looks forward to continuing to participate in noble causes like this in the future.
