Nelson Mandela International Day is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that each individual has the power to transform the world; the ability to make an impact. The Mandela Day campaign message is:

"Nelson Mandela fought for social justice for 67years

         We ask you to start with 67 minutes."

This year, on a cold winters day in Cape Town, Inner Wheel Waterfront put their effort behind three initiatives:  

Collection of good used clothing distributed to the indigent

Fresh vegetables prepared for hot soup distributed by Ladles of Love

Members knitted squares sewn together to make knee rugs for the indigent elderly.
