On Saturday 22nd May 104 members from across Australia gathered for the Charter of our newest Club Tuggerah Lakes located in a beautiful part of New South Wales at The Entrance. IIW President Christine Kirby and her husband Robert were able to join us for this occasion. All members of the IWA Executive attended and IWA President June gave a welcome to Inner Wheel. The Flame of Friendship was lit by Dorothy Morgan member of Wyong Club and mother of Membership Chairman Susan Chisholm, whose sister Louise Morgan is a charter member of the Club. Susan’s three daughters are also charter members and have taken on leadership roles within the Club. That is three generations from one family now Inner Wheel members.
The new club has 23 Charter members who range in age from 19 to 60+. In her address Charter President Morgan said “we are a very mixed group of ages, backgrounds and experiences drawn together by our desire to help others. Having such a diverse club, I cannot wait to see the things we can achieve together for our community”.
The collar and jewel was presented by Past IIW President Lovise Richardson.
Table decorations were a variety of succulent gardens created by Tuggerah Lakes members to be sold at their first function, a High Tea in aid of local independent HSC students, to be held next weekend, a very active Club already.
