On 23rd January the Inner Wheel Club of Mengo Uganda celebrated International Inner Wheel day with the children at the Abimanyi Child ministries.
Abimanyi Child ministries is a Ugandan Christian based NGO that offers rehabilitation, emotional and social support to children with disabilities, both mental and physical, as well the affected families.
Their goal is to improve the quality of life of these children and empower parents and guardians spiritually and emotionally to enable them to cope with the challenges of having children with these disabilities.
The ladies of IW Club Mengo took a cake as well as an assortment of drinks and snacks which we shared with the children and their parents as we told them about Inner Wheel, who we are and what we do. The children were very happy and excited to cut the big white, yellow and blue cake. It was a very pleasant albeit emotional day.
We also gave a financial donation to assist in the construction of a therapy room for the centre. The centre offers physiotherapy, psycho social support and care, nutrition and healthcare services as well as community sensitization.
