Swedish IW supporting children in Tanzania

Posted by | May 17, 2019 |

This is the International Project that Osby - Broby IW D240 Sweden is supporting.

Plaster House is a home in Arusha that enables children from all over Tanzania, to recover after they have had corrective surgery, orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery or neurosurgery for a disability.

A typical case coming to Plaster House for pre- and post- operative care and rehabilitation is osteofluoroses, club foot, contraction after a burn scar, lip - and cleft-pallet, spina bifida, hydrocefalus, anal rectal malformation and hypospadies.

The care provided to these children would otherwise not be available to them, and this help, lifting many families out of despair, giving them hope for their children's future.

Operative teams come from overseas to provide operations of the most complicated cases.

Today there are 160 children at Plaster House. Every day, 40-50 wound dressings are being done.

The support from Osby-Broby IW club is providing essnetial medical dressing materials.
