Golden Jubilee

Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in India celebrated Swarna Manjari - Golden Jubilee celebrations of International Inner Wheel Formation at Varanasi on 11th and 12th November 2017. 

Under the able guidance of Association President Patricia Hilton, Convener PAP Nandini Bhargava and District Chairman Mamta Dwivedi of District 312 left no stone unturned to make this function memorable one. IIW President Dr. Kapila Gupta was the chief guest. 

Highlights of the function are; 1280 members attended this function. Representatives from neighboring countries like Nepal (52) and Sri Lanka (10) attended the function showing solidarity and extending friendship. 

The event started by unveiling specially designed Inner Wheel cut out and inaugurating an exhibition and shopping arcade at the hands of  IIW President Dr. Kapila Gupta. IIW President Dr. Kapila Gupta and Treasurer Azhagu Annamalai were felicitated along with citations by Association President Patricia Hilton.

Members of District 312 felicitated IIW President Dr. Kapila Gupta and IIW Treasurer Azhagu Annamalai in traditional Indian style and  gave citation

A postal stamp and cover were released to mark the event with Uttar Pradesh Postal Department, Government of India. Margarette Golding Award Winner Sitarani Agarwal, 8 members out of 71 who completed 50 years in Inner Wheel and representatives of 51 clubs who completed 50 years were felicitated and recognized for their outstanding contribution to Inner Wheel.        ​

8 out of 71 attended the Golden Jubilee function at Varanasi. They were felicitated with citations by IIW President Kapila Gupta and Association President Patricia Hilton.  

17 new clubs are added to Association of Inner Wheel clubs in India. Charters were presented to the representatives of these new clubs at the hands of IIW President Kapila Gupta and Association President Patricia Hilton

Charters were presented to the representatives of 17 new clubs formed in this year. Swarna Manjari Souvenir was released at the hands of PIIWP Minna Kapur. Inspiring speeches were given by various dignitaries as follows;

-IIW President Dr. Kapila Gupta spoke on ‘My Inner Wheel Journey’ and Divya Drishti – The Way Forward

-IIW Treasurer  Azhagu Annamalai spoke on –‘Light Up Inner Wheel’

-Association President Patricia Hilton spoke on  ‘Vision of Inner Wheel India’

-Mamta Dwivedi, Host District Chairman spoke on ‘Service in Action’.

Interactive and educative sessions were held  during the function such as;

1.‘Faith and Inspiration’ session chaired by PAP Shailaja Bhat,

2. A  chat show –‘Constant Glory- International Inner Wheel Indian Torch Bearers’ chaired by PAP Pushpa Suryamurty,

3. ‘Building An Inner Wheel Legacy’ – experiences of Inner Wheel members, session chaired by IPAP Prabha Raghunandan

In a  chat show –‘Constant Glory- International Inner Wheel Indian Torch Bearers’ chaired by PAP Pushpa Suryamurty,   Past IIW Presidents like Minna Kapur, Anita Aggarwal, Kamala Ramakrishnan and IIW President Kapila Gupta talked about their vision and experiences 

‘Subala—Women with beauty and strength’ was announced by Association President Patricia Hilton. She appealed to work on 5 thrust areas of service under this project

• Maternal Health and child care
• Safety and protection
• Menstrual care and hygiene
• Cancer detection and care
• Vocational Training

Many Golden projects were carried out during these 2 days

Golden Jubilee celebrations saw the presence of many stalwarts like IIW President, IIW Treasurer, Past IIW Presidents, Board Directors, Editors, Representatives, PDCs and Association Executive team.

All PAPs, Association Executive team, all clubs (District wise) performed mind-blowing dances charging the whole atmosphere excitement.

Flags and warm wishes were exchanged in true Inner Wheel spirit. Inner Wheel in India is going to cherish these golden moments for the lifetime.
