Refugee Support

Unique & United Report of ┬ IWC Schwerin - Germany 2015/16

In August 2015 the IW Club of Schwerin dedicated their assitance to the refugee families.

Everything is so different, so strange and new in this city for 16 Syrian children and their parents, who found a home here.

The club arranged a visit to the daycare, ABC ÔÇô Sch├╝tzenhilfe and supported by the Schwerin Rotarians where the Club President of the IWC Dorothee Kiehl Aha and Dorte Burkert, Editor of IW Club Schwerin presented schoolbags with learning materials, backpacks with sportswear, toys and sweets for the Syrian children. The parents were also provided towels and extensive hygiene products.

It was a cheerful morning when the presents were made by the 2 clubs to assit the 16 Syrian children who had nothing but what they wore on their backs. They are now prepared to start school and daycare everyday.

The vibrant dark brown eyes of a child, shy smile and a whispered in German "THANK YOU", were the trigger for further projects for refugee assistance.
