Girls Friendly Toilet

Creating a Girls Friendly Toilet in the remote village school of Bangladesh

The Inner Wheel Club of Dhanmondi, District 328, Bangladesh joining hands with 23 different Inner Wheel clubs of┬ India undertook an International Project in Kabi Jahanara Arzoo High School, Manikganj, Bangladesh. This school is 140 km away from the capital Dhaka where there are 2 different basic toilets lacking modern amenities with running water serving 300 girls. Under concept of Girls Friendly Toilet, Clubs donated money to create a toilet where all the amenities such as antibacterial hand sanitizer, liquid hand wash, toilet shower, toilet papers, litter bin, sanitary napkins, first aid box as per WHO standard and toilet cleaning reagents will be provided which girls required for better sanitation and hygiene. The girls will receive all consumables for healthy toilet without any charges year around and this will be strictly monitored by one designated senior lady teacher. With the donation club members travelled to the school and apprised the girls who were really excited to get this newly conceptualized toilet for their better health. Eventually another toilet will be converted into another girlÔÇÖs friendly toilet.
