On May 3rd, in the populous district of Catania, 36 via Orfanelli , the District 211 Service was delivered for the two-year period 2016-18 with the opening of a Centre for disadvantaged children and less fortunate women.
District 211 Chairman Zaira Restuccia Roberti together with IP Chairman Nadia Arena Micalizio and Angela Leonardi, President of ONLUS "Rinascendo" (Being reborn), cut the opening ribbon.
The Service was started in IW year 2016/17 and ended with the inauguration ceremony of "House of Relief". It will be the home of free care and a place for disadvantaged children and less fortunate women, both often victims of violence.
The structure was donated by the municipality of Catania and has been renovated and furnished thanks to the contribution of the Clubs of District 211.

The House is composed of several rooms: a room for listening to women who suffered violence, a consulting room for women affected by endometriosis and oncological diseases, a room only for children, where free activities will be organized, also to support them from the psychological point of view.
A number of authorities were present at the ceremony: Past IW NC President Anna Maria Oberto and District 211 Editor Maria Mancuso, the Mayor of Catania Enzo Bianco and many volunteers of ONLUS “Rinascendo”.
