From the 17th to 20th of March 2016, following an invitation from Inner Wheel Clubs of Macedonia, in the organization of the Inner Wheel Club of Skopje, the President of IW International, Ms. Charlotte De Vos visited Macedonia. The agenda of this visit included various planned activities that were all fulfilled by the end of the trip.
The first day of the visit was dedicated to presenting the current activities of the IW club of Skopje, as well as exploring and exhibiting the city and its cultural and historical landmarks. During the first meeting, the President of IW Skopje introduced the current specific areas of focus in humanitarian aid in Macedonia. This included a brief overview of the previous activities of the club as well as all prospective opportunities for future activities.
The following day, Ms. Charlotte De Vos, the Board Director Ms. Nelli Bratoeva and the other members of the club visited the Tikvesh Winery, as a courtesy of its owner and club member, Ms. Nina Janeva. The visit had a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, where Ms. De Vos met all of the active members of the local club, and was presented with various internationally awarded wines from our region as well as specialty dishes from our traditional Macedonian cuisine.
The third day of the visit had a work agenda which consisted of a presentation by the President De Vos, regarding the structure and framework of the functions of the international Inner Wheel organization. During the conclusion of the presentation her motives and missions where portrayed, which included the novel planned activities of the organization in the forthcoming year. President Charlotte expressed a great deal of satisfaction towards the current state and undertakings of the IW clubs of Macedonia. Thus, as a final positive outcome of the visit, she shared with us the decision of the international organization, to join and organize the Macedonian clubs to become part of an international district, District 255. Thus, a formal meeting was organized between the four Macedonian clubs: Skopje, Kumanovo, Veles and Bitola with the honorable guest and President. It is important to note that this valuable and successful visit, through the creation of the district, had a very positive and motivating effect over the members of the local clubs.
The final lunch was a celebration of the news and took place at the Hotel Queen, hosted by its owner and our Skopje club member, Ms. Vesna Nikolovska.
In the name of the IIW District 255 and IIW Club Skopje, IIW Club Bitola, IIW Club Veles and IIW Club Kumanovo.
