Donate Life! Help start a child’s heartbeat! was the charity theme of the Inner Wheel Club Kazanlak’s, D248, Bulgaria, 15th anniversary celebration on 11 March 2017.
The funds raised will be donated to “In Vitro” charity fund, based in town Kazanlak . The charity supports reproductively challenged families through their IVF procedures and provides help with the cost of the treatment.
The present IWC Kazanlak President, Dr (Ob-Gyn) Maria Georgieva was the author of the theme which touched the hearts of people.
Snezhina Manchorova, Chairman of D248 Bulgaria 2016/2017, welcomed the IW members with a rose and IW flags as a deep gratitude and respect to the ladies’ community service and support. The founders of IWC Kazanlak– Galina Naydenova, Maria Ignatova (present Deputy National Representative IW Bulgaria), Snezhina Marcholova, Dorian Mircheva and Stefka Nikolova, are still the core force of the club.
A guest of honour was the present National Representative D248 Bulgaria Zhivka Stoyanova. IW Kazanlak members received greeting letters from Nelly Bratoeva (IIW Board Director), Mariana Stoeva (President IWC Plovdiv) and Marina Kornovska (the first Bulgarian awarded with “Margarette Golding” and first D248 Chairman, IWC Varna-Marina member).
The charity evening campaign under the slogan “Help start a child’s heartbeat” gathered and touched participants from variety of backgrounds which epitomised being unique and united.
Mayor of Kazanlak Galina Stoyanova supported the campaign and attended the fundraiser during the IW Kazanlak anniversary celebration. She congratulated the ladies on the Club’s anniversary and thanked them for their devotion on numerous community projects and their service to the town and borough. The Mayor added her contribution to the charity fundraiser.
Bedros Azinyan, RC Kazanlak President, represented Rotary on the evening and passed on the club’s greetings and generous donations.
Radina Velcheva, founder of “I want a baby” foundation, has sent a letter of gratitude to IWC Kazanlak for organising the campaign in support of families going through IVF treatment.
The ladies from IWC Stara Zagora who chartered IWC Kazanlak exceptionally contributed to the inspirational atmosphere of the evening. They have made a monetary donation but also a painting which was submitted for the national competition “In the name of the Rose” organised by D248 as part of the Peace Memorandum campaign. The painting was auctioned during the charity evening. Two music CDs donated by the famous composer Haigashot Agasyan were also auctioned as part of the fundraiser.
The entertainment for the evening included performances by talented children and other performers from Kazanlak which has been supported by IW Kazanlak through different projects over the years. There was also a raffle and charity craft fair with items generously supplied by art gallery “Atelieto” to add to the donations.
The paper invitation for the event were inspired by the drawing of the 6 year old Bilyana Teneva, student in art school “Art line” with teacher Vanya Zapryanova, IW Kazanlak member.
The evening was unforgettable displaying a wide array of emotions including compassion, generosity, cooperation, kindness and friendship.
The raised funds will be allocated after an evaluation based on particular criteria agreed by IWC Kazanlak and in compliance with the council’s programme in aid of reproductively challenged families.
